Major Mitchell Art Print.

Often called the Pink Cockatoo, the Major Mitchell cockatoo is named after explorer and surveyor, who when faced with this distinctive bird in the 1800s, broke character and waxed poetic in his description, and we can see why. With their distinct pink and white beauty, the females and males are almost identical, with the females being slightly smaller, with a brighter yellow in the crest.   Usually grouped in pairs, the Cockatoos will sometimes feed and drink communally with flocks of Galahs and Little Corellas. Whether found on the ground or in trees, they feed on seeds, fruit, nuts and at dawn and dusk gather at waterholes to drink.
